Continuing Education Opportunities

Throughout the year, we offer different education opportunities to our school community and the public at large.

Coffee and Conversation Series

Throughout the school year, Spring Garden offers an education series, Coffee and Conversation, on the last Wednesday of each month. Topics relating to Waldorf education will be presented by experienced faculty, with time for Q & A at the end of each presentation. Session times will vary between morning and evening to accommodate our community’s needs. We hope you can join us for one or all!

More information coming soon.

2016-17 Book Study Groups
We now have two book study groups. Each meets on alternating Wednesdays, so you can participate in both!

Over the Rainbow Bridge
– Currently underway, but still welcoming new members!
Join Susan Moss, R.N., one of the first nurses certified in the U. S. in anthroposophic medicine, and Royse Crall, retired Waldorf-certified teacher who has led two classes from Grades 1-8 for a book study.
The focus of this fall’s book study will be Beyond the Rainbow Bridge. This truly practical book also includes instructions for making soft toys and creating birthday stories, as well as resources, recommended reading, and much more. We will focus on Beyond the Rainbow Bridge this fall, then move on to Simplicity Parentingafter the winter break.

The book study group will meet every other Wednesday from 8:45-9:45 in the School Store, starting on Wednesday, September 7. Even if you missed the first meeting, it is not too late to join! Amy Hecky has copies of the book available for you to purchase at the cost of $18. If you are interested in participating, please email Amy Hecky to register.

Rudolf Steiner’s How To Know Higher Worlds
– Starts Wednesday, September 14!
According to, How To Know Higher Worlds “is the classic account of the modern Western esoteric path of initiation made public by Steiner in 1904. He begins with the premise that ‘the capacities by which we can gain insights into the higher worlds lie dormant within each one of us.’ Steiner carefully and precisely leads the reader from the cultivation of the fundamental soul attitudes of reverence and inner tranquility to the development of inner life through the stages of preparation, illumination, and initiation.”
The study group will be led by Susan Moss, R.N., and retired Spring Garden Waldorf School teacher Royse Crall. This book study group will meet in the school store every other Wednesday from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. beginning on September 14. This book can be purchased from for $15 or less. If you are interested in participating, please email Amy Hecky to register.
