Suzannie Handmade
Biography
Bio: Suzannie Handmade began in 2006 with a passion for knitting, a love of all sorts of crafts, and a desire to share my work with my community. The business centered on handknit, fulled/felted wool bags and hats, and lots of other wearable knits. I decided to include jewelry and other handmade accessories as I began selling on Etsy, at Farmers’ Markets, and at craft shows and arts events. This was my full time work until babies came along in 2010 and 2012. By 2013 Suzannie Handmade was a much smaller endeavor that lived only on Etsy, but had shifted to include the sewn goodies I was making for my babies. A move to Copley in 2014 was followed by two more babies in 2015 and 2017, and the business continued online with new products inspired by my growing kiddos. When my oldest child entered Spring Garden in 2018 I began selling in the school store and at the Children’s Festival. Once Covid pushed the pause button on those beloved venues, I returned my focus to my 14 year old Etsy shop. Today, Suzannie Handmade offers handknit hats and scarves, apron-style fabric bibs, reusable fabric gift bags, felt play food, children’s art smocks, oilcloth lunch supplies, fabric ribbon headbands, and knit & felted brooches and hair clips.
