The Winery at Wolf Creek
Biography
The Winery at Wolf Creek was founded in 1980 by Andrew Wineberg on the property of his parents, Melvin and Harriet Wineberg. The initial 10 acres of vineyard were planted at the base of the hill below the winery and another two acres were planted on top of the hill south of the winery. The first vineyard was planted with Cayuga White, Seyval, Vignoles, Dechaunac, Chancellor, Leon Millot, and Vidal.
The winery operation was then purchased by long-time vineyard manager Andy Troutman and his business partner, Deanna Troutman in June of 2002. Since then, the winery has expanded production and vineyard acreage and continues to offer a selection of mostly Ohio-grown wines. Much of the original hillside vineyards have been replanted with European grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Pinot Noir.
