Class Teacher
Spring Garden Waldorf School is seeking a class teacher for first grade. The class of 20 children are eager, inquisitive, and have a strong foundation as a community of learners. The first grade teacher is currently and will continue to be supported by an assistant teacher who is a Waldorf graduate.
We are seeking a teacher who is a professional who shows initiative, carries an active interest in life, and is always learning. This is a full time salaried position with typical hours of 8a-4p Monday to Friday and a meeting until 5:15p on Tuesdays. There are some additional hours outside of the typical school day for evening and weekend events (approximately 40hours/yr). Waldorf class teachers typically loop with their class of students from first through eighth grade.
The ideal candidate will be a certified Waldorf teacher or have experience in a Waldorf school. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Interested candidates should send a resume, cover letter, and three letters of reference to learn@sgws.org Attn: First Grade Teacher Hiring Committee.

Spring Garden Waldorf School was founded in 1981 and is an accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America. SGWS serves students from Pre-K through Grade 8. Our expanding curriculum includes Spanish, Choral, Orchestra, Woodwork, Handwork, Physical Education, Gardening and Extra Lesson.
